Updates

I have a couple works in progress that I’m proud of even though they are incomplete or in a state of revision.

The first one that I have on the radar is Escape. I have completed several drafts and revisions of this story. It is currently being reviewed by my writing group. This is a novella (~32,600 words). It is a fast-paced thriller/sci-fi/paranormal.

The next project I have is called Adrift. It is a sequel novella to Escape. I completed the first draft and I’m in the process of editing and revising it. I’ll juggle this story line as I work on my current project.

I am currently working on a story called Flotsam.  It is a weird (yes, that is an actual genre, gasp!)/paranormal/horror novel about a man who finds himself on a new world.

This story looks like it will be a full novel length of around 80,000 words or more.  My goal is to put down about 100,000 words to complete the first draft of it. Once I’ve completed my revisions and editing, I’ll begin my hunt for an agent and then on to publishing.  But as I hunt for an agent, I’ll be on to the next story.

I wrote quite a bit and then decided I needed to go back and redo the plotline. I have a tendency to be a gardener when I write (while being a couple steps ahead in my head on where I need to go). Recently, I decided to try developing the plot to see if I could work with that type of framework. The last time I did this, it killed the story for me since there was no more discovery for me. So, fingers crossed, this time I hope I can establish the plot and then come back and write. I hope this works for me.

I’ve also created a test logline.  This is to give you (and me) more of an idea of what the story is about and hopefully interest you into reading it.

A castaway searches for a way to rebuild his lost world, but what he discovers forces him to choose between saving a life—and his soul—or rekindling the world he once knew.
